Spent 3 hours troubleshooting a DNS issue on a client's server only to find out the network cable was half unplugged

It was a small law office in Ogden and I felt like an idiot when I finally spotted it, has anyone else chased a software fix for a hardware problem that long?

Call me crazy but I've actually had more success assuming it's a hardware fault first then checking software after. Three hours means you were probably overthinking it, but that cable was half out from the start.

Crazy, but @charles_henderson, bad cables don't sneak out while you're in the BIOS.
