Why does everyone keep mitring crown moulding in place instead of marking a jig?

Wait, hold up - you're saying they actually used poplar for this? I had to read that twice because that's genuinely wild to me. Poplar is basically the cheap stuff you paint over or use for hidden framing, not something you'd waste on a piece that's supposed to be the main attraction. Like, was nobody in the shop paying attention when they ordered the lumber? I've seen people use pine for quick projects but poplar for something like this feels like using fancy wrapping paper to line a bird cage. It's not even that poplar is bad wood, it's just totally wrong for the job here and that makes me cringe a little honestly.

Vent: People who ignore the auto-save feature and lose hours of work

Oh man, here we go again with the "how dare people not know everything I know" posts. Is it really that deep though? Like yeah it sucks to lose work but we've all done something dumb before. I once spent three hours coding a spreadsheet macro and forgot to save once and lost it all, but I didn't come crying to the internet about it. People learn at their own pace and honestly Figma's auto-save can be kind of confusing with all those different version histories and stuff. Maybe cut your coworker some slack, not everyone grew up with perfect tech habits.

Client told me my header was 'too busy' on a hotel website redesign

The "broken TV" thing is brutal but honest. I think the angle nobody's talking about is how clients actually live with their own sites way more than we do. We design it, hand it off, and move on. They stare at that header every single day for years. So when they say something looks like a pizza menu or a broken TV, they're not just being mean. They're telling you what their actual customers have been hinting at but won't say out loud. That booking button jump proves they were right all along.
