Just realized I've been doing control joints wrong for years

I always used a wet saw for control joints, thought that was the only way to get clean lines. Then last month I was on a job with an older finisher who used a jointer tool right after floating... and man, the timing made all the difference. The joints were way cleaner and didn't have that chipped edge I kept fighting with the saw. I tried it on my driveway pad two weeks ago and it came out perfect. Any of you guys use a jointer instead of cutting after?

Keep the jointer wet or dry when you drag it? I've seen guys dip it in diesel but that seems like overkill for a driveway.

My experience says the saw gives you way more control over the joint depth and straightness.
