Power trowel blade count surprised me on a 40,000 sq ft job
Ran a warehouse floor last month near Tulsa and looked up the spec sheet afterwards. Turns out running 4 blades instead of 6 on a 36 inch machine changes the finish speed by about a third. I always just used whatever came mounted. Has anyone else played with blade counts for different slab sizes?

Went through the same thing a few years back when a guy let me run his spare machine with 5 blades instead of the 4 I was used to. It hit me later that this is the same deal as a lot of stuff in life, where we just take whatever setup we're handed and never question it. Like how most people drive the same route to work for years without ever timing a different one, even if it's faster. Or how we keep a kitchen tool in the same drawer out of habit and never think about whether it belongs somewhere else. The blade count thing is just more proof that the default setting isnt always the right one, it's just the one nobody bothered to change. Small tweaks like that add up fast on a big floor, same way small habits add up over a year.
