Unpopular opinion: chemtrails aren't real, and here's why I flipped

I overheard a meteorologist explaining how condensation trails form at high altitude, and it clicked that my "chemtrail" photos were just normal planes in humid air. Now I feel dumb for spending 3 years posting about it on forums. Anyone else drop a conspiracy after a simple science chat?

Jana makes a good point about letting go of old posts, but I wonder about something deeper. What was it about that specific conversation that finally broke through for you when years of other sources couldn't? I ask because most people who buy into these theories have a protective layer around their beliefs, like a force field that deflects anything inconvenient. Was it the way he explained it, the trust you had in him personally, or something else that let the information actually land?

Delete your old posts and move on. I did the same thing with a whole folder of "proof" after a pilot friend explained wingtip vortices to me over a beer. It stings for a bit but nobody is going back to read your stuff from three years ago anyway. Focus on the science that actually helped you, not the time you spent on the wrong track.
