The painter on my Austin job taught me to check framing square before drywall, saved us 3 days
He said he always runs a 4 foot level along the studs right before hanging, and we found a bowed wall that would've meant tearing out later. Anyone else got a pre-drywall check they never skip?
Check the floor joists too, because a dip in the subfloor will show right through the drywall and nobody catches it until the trim goes on. Running a string line across the room takes two minutes and has saved me more callbacks than any level ever did.
