Heard a guy at the lumber yard say container homes are just tin cans waiting to rust
I get that uninsulated containers can be a problem, but he was talking like steel frames are disposable. I've got a build near Portland that's been dry for 4 years with just a good vented roof over it. Anyone else had to argue with someone who thinks containers can't last 10 years?

Man, some people just see what they wanna see. Did he actually have any examples of containers rotting out that fast or was he just repeating what someone told him?

Wait, wait wait. Are you telling me he didn't actually see a single rotted container with his own eyes? That's wild if true. These Facebook groups are full of people who act like experts just because they watched a YouTube video once.
I swear there was a guy in a different thread last month claiming 40ft high cube boxes are all garbage within two years of being made. Total fear mongering. Most of these things are built like tanks and sit on ships for years without issue.
Honestly, Ive traveled to a few port yards and seen stacks of containers from the 90s with just some surface rust. If they were rotting out that fast, the shipping industry wouldnt even be using them.
