Insulation numbers from a container house I toured in Austin blew my mind

I visited a container home build in Austin this past weekend and the owner showed me their R-value readings: R-38 in the walls and R-50 on the roof, way higher than I thought a metal box could achieve. They used closed-cell spray foam over the corrugated steel and said it cut their AC bill by 60% last July. Has anyone else found creative ways to insulate their containers without losing too much interior space?

Read somewhere that some people use a layer of rigid foam board between the metal and spray foam to stop any condensation issues. That R-38 on the walls sounds solid for a container.

Wait, is that actually a thing? Honest to god, I always thought that foam direct on metal was the only way to go, but this makes way more sense now.
