My neighbor laughed at my container home plans. 3 months later he changed his tune.
So I live out near Austin and my neighbor Bob (retired contractor) saw me leveling the ground for my 40ft high cube. He said "you'll be fighting rust and heat forever, waste of money." But after I showed him the spray foam numbers ($2,800 for R-30) and the special cool roof coating I found, he actually came over last week asking for the supplier name. Has anyone else had to win over a skeptic with actual numbers before?

Spray foam in a metal box sounds like a sweaty coffin waiting to happen.

Are you picturing a hot dog in a metal thermos? Because that's exactly the mental image I got. I've seen a few builds where people try to seal up metal sheds with spray foam, and it never ends well. The condensation alone would turn that place into a swamp in about a week. You'd open the door and get hit with a face full of warm, damp air that smells like old socks and regret.
