A stubborn color correction job in Cincinnati took me three full days

A client came in wanting to go from a dark box dye black to a light ash blonde, which I knew was a big ask. The first round of color remover barely lifted it, and the second pass left it a patchy orange mess. I had to do a careful bleach bath, then tone it twice with a 9A to finally get it even and cool. Has anyone else found a better way to lift stubborn artificial black without frying the hair?

That sounds like a rough process (a direct dye remover might have worked better first).

Did you try a color remover first?

Ugh, that sounds like a nightmare. I've had luck using a direct dye remover first, then following up with a low-volume bleach for the leftover pigment. It still takes time, but it's way less damaging than multiple high-lift rounds.
