I was digging through my old kit last weekend and found a spiral notebook from beauty school in Tampa with notes on three separate blowout techniques we had to master, and it hit me that I have not touched two of them in almost 20 years. My instructor back then told us clients would ask for specific finishes, but nowadays everyone just wants that same smooth, bouncy look no matter what. Do any of you still pull out the old techniques you learned in school, or did you drop most of them once you got your own chair?
