My mail carrier's casual comment on nail polish adjusted my consultation style.
I was wearing a bright nail color when my mail carrier said it looked nice but would chip fast on her hands. It hit me that I never asked clients about their daily tasks. Now I start nail consults by asking about their work and hobbies. This helps them choose polishes that last longer and fit their life. Has a random chat ever made you tweak your salon routine?

Ngl, starting consults by asking about work and hobbies feels like overkill. People pick polish based on mood or trend, not their job. High quality brands hold up fine even with hands on work. You're reading too much into a passing remark.

But don't hands-on jobs chip polish faster?

Actually asking about daily wear helps pick the right formula, not just the color. A gel manicure lasts way longer for someone on a jobsite versus in an office. It's not overthinking, it's just good service.
