Tried a new hydrating mask on a client and it turned her face bright red in 20 minutes
Happened last Tuesday at the shop in Austin. I used this new hyaluronic acid mask I got from a supplier at the expo. Client was mid-conversation about her vacation and I looked over and her cheeks and forehead were flaming. She freaked out. I washed it off fast and slathered on some aloe gel she had in her bag. Took about an hour to calm down. Turns out she had a mild reaction to some ingredient. She was cool about it but man I felt like an idiot. Anyone else had a product go sideways on a client like that?

Hold on, shouldn't you have checked the ingredients before putting it on someone's face?

Most people just grab whatever bottle looks right and don't think twice. The basics are always on the label for a reason, you gotta give it a quick scan before slapping it on someone. It's like cooking, you check what's in the pot before you serve it. Kind of a no-brainer when you're dealing with skin products that could have anything in them.
