Vent: realized I've done 500 haircuts with the same pair of $30 shears from a Sally Beauty in Tulsa
I was cleaning out my station last Tuesday and actually counted the sharpening marks on my shears, 14 of them since I bought them back in 2019. My first boss in Tulsa said I'd burn through cheap tools in 6 months, but here I am 500 heads later and they still cut fine. Maybe it's because I only use them for basic trims and keep the good pair locked up for color work. Now I'm wondering if I've just been lucky or if the whole "you need $300 shears" thing is a racket. Anyone else still using their starter tools way longer than they expected?
