Wrote off the 10 minute scalp massage as a gimmick until a client with tension headaches booked 3 weeks straight
I'll admit I rolled my eyes a little when our new esthetician in Portland added a 10 minute scalp massage to every color service last month. I told her it was padding the appointment and cutting into our turnover. Then a regular client who gets tension headaches told me she came in for root touch ups and left feeling looser than after her last massage appointment. She rebooked 3 weeks in a row, and she isn't the only one asking for it now. Turns out the scalp has a ton of nerve endings and slow pressure there calms people down fast. Does anyone else have a service they thought was filler that turned into a request?
