Appreciation post: Hit 5,000 hours on my current machine
It's a 2018 Link-Belt 110, and hitting that number made me realize how much I trust its swing. Anyone else have a rig they just know inside out now?

Had a buddy who ran an old Cat 330 for 14,000 hours and he swore he could feel the counterweight shift before the machine even tipped. He told me one day the swing motor seized up on a slope and he caught it mid-air because he knew exactly where the load line was. @kim.hannah that car probably knows you better than you think, just not as dramatically as a machine that could flip you.

Read an article once about how operators get a sixth sense for their machine's balance. You just know the exact point where the load feels right. That kind of trust only comes from putting in the hours.
