Dropped $400 on a new headset with noise canceling and it's a total waste

I thought it would help me hear the signal person better on a loud site, but the noise canceling just makes everything sound flat and muffled. I can't pick out the voice from the background hum anymore. Anyone have a good headset that actually works for this?

Honestly that sounds like a feature problem, not a headset problem. Noise canceling tech is built to kill constant droning sounds, not to help you hear one voice in a crowd. Tbh you might have just bought the wrong tool for the job.

Yeah, good point from @bailey.xena, but now I'm just imagining someone yelling over a jet engine. The tech is doing its job, just not the one we all wanted. Guess we expected mind reading, not just noise blocking.
