Honestly thought the new anti-sway software on our Manitowoc was just a gimmick until I had to place a 15-ton HVAC unit on a 6th-floor pad in downtown Seattle last week with 20 mph gusts.

Tbh, the computer kept it so steady my spotter just gave me a thumbs up and said 'smooth like butter,' so has anyone else had a game-changing experience with a specific tech upgrade they initially doubted?

My 200-ton Grove had the same system and I felt the same way at first. First job was a 12-ton chiller on a roof with 18 mph crosswinds. Computer held it within an inch the whole time. Trust the math on these new load control systems. I still wouldn't push it past 25 mph but for those borderline days it's a lifesaver.

20 mph gusts downtown? I would have packed it in and waited for a calmer day, that's insane.
