Saw a wild crane setup at a county fair in Ohio

I was at the Greene County Fair last weekend and they had a small mobile crane running a ring toss game from the basket! The operator was using the crane's fine controls to lower rings onto bottles for kids. It was a 15-tonner, all painted up with carnival colors. Has anyone else seen a crane used for something that silly?

Bailey.xena is wrong, that's a brilliant way to train fine motor control for real work.

That Greene County Fair operator has the most niche job skill in Ohio. Imagine putting "expert-level crane precision for carnival ring toss" on a resume. They probably spent years on construction sites just to train for this moment. I bet the kids loved it, but the union guys who taught that operator are having a full existential crisis somewhere. It's the ultimate flex to use a 15-ton machine for a game that usually costs two tickets.
