Shoutout to the old timer at the yard in Phoenix who showed me his rigging trick
He saw me struggling with a tricky lift and just said, 'Kid, sometimes the best tool is a longer sling.' He pulled a 20-footer from his truck and the whole thing balanced perfectly. Anyone else have a simple piece of advice that just clicked like that?

Remember that old timer. He saved me hours once just by telling me to soak a seized bolt in Coke overnight. It sounds crazy, but it worked. Those guys have seen every problem ten times over. The real trick is listening when they offer help. A lot of young guys are too proud to take simple advice.

It's like we've started to think that if a fix isn't complicated or expensive, it can't be real. That old timer knew the simple power of patience and a cheap trick. We see it everywhere now, ignoring the easy answer because we're waiting for some high-tech solution. It's not just in garages, it's in how we handle problems with friends or at home. We'd rather struggle than admit the answer might be simple and right in front of us.
