Just realized my ink mixer was way off after 8 months
I run a small screen printing studio in Portland and kept wondering why our colors looked dull compared to samples. Found out yesterday the paddle mixer had a loose bearing that wasn't blending the pigment fully. Anyone else run into hidden machine problems that slowly mess with your work?

Oh dude, "loose bearing" is probably just a bad bearing bushing needing a swap. I ran into that same issue with my old mixer but it was actually a worn out coupling that threw the alignment off. Quick fix if you catch it early before it messes with your ink even more lol.

Swap out that bushing first and see if it tightens up the wobble. Caught mine before it warped the shaft but barely, so don't put it off too long lmao. And yeah check the coupling too while you're in there since those things go quiet then suddenly throw your whole alignment off.
