Spent $200 on a standing desk converter at a studio supply shop in Portland

Bought this fancy hydraulic lift StandDesk converter for our layout station. It wobbles like crazy when I put my Cintiq on it, even at normal height. Three months later the gas spring started sagging on one side. Anyone else ditch those converters and just build a custom desk?

Built a custom desk after going through two wobble converters in a row. Grabbed a solid core door slab from the habitat restore for $40, cut some steel pipe legs from the hardware store, and bolted everything together. My cintiq sits solid as a rock now, no shaking even when I'm heavy handed with the stylus. The whole thing cost less than that converter and it's actually holding up. Really happy I went that route instead of trying another store bought solution.

Isn't that basically what everyone ends up doing eventually?
