Vent: My old boss told me to never work with friends. I should have listened.
He said it would mess up the work and the friendship. I started a small video studio with my best friend six months ago. We argued over a client's edit last week, and now we aren't speaking. Has anyone else lost a friend over a creative project?

Ugh, I get that rules are important, but man, mixing money and friendship just changes everything. It puts this weird pressure on the relationship that wasn't there before, no matter what you agree on upfront.

That old advice about never working with friends is too simple. It's not the friendship that's the problem. It's not having clear rules before you start. You need to decide how to handle disagreements, money, and bad clients before the first fight happens. Without that, any business partnership falls apart, friend or not.
