My writing group in Tulsa told me my prompts were doing too much work, so I tried something dumber
I brought a prompt to my Tuesday group in Tulsa that had 4 paragraphs of setup, and Dana just said "you already wrote the story, why would I write it again." So now I write one-line prompts like a voice memo from someone panicking, and the stuff people bring back is way better than when I spelled everything out. How do you all figure out when to stop explaining in a prompt and let the writer fill in the blanks?
