Tried freewriting prompts for 10 minutes every morning for a week and day 4 broke me
So I decided last Monday to try that thing where you grab a prompt and just write without stopping for 10 minutes. First three days went fine, got a page and a half each time about a diner cook who can't taste food anymore. Then Thursday I pulled a prompt about writing a letter to someone I lost touch with and I froze up for like six of the ten minutes. Ended up writing two sentences and staring at the wall. Friday I went back to the diner guy and cranked out almost three pages, felt great. Saturday I tried a nature prompt and it came out flat, just garbage. Sunday I mixed two prompts together, a lost letter and the diner, and that one I actually liked. What do you all do when a prompt kills your momentum, skip it and come back later or just push through the bad ones?
