Got hit with ransomware last week - lost 2 years of client photos
Opened what I thought was an invoice from a regular client. Boom. Every file encrypted. 2019 to 2021 wedding photos gone. Had to pay the bitcoin demand just to keep my business alive. Anyone else been burned by this exact trick?

That invoice trick is the oldest one in the book, but nobody talks about how these guys get your client list in the first place. They scrape social media for your business page and see who comments or tags you. Then they make fake accounts that look like real clients. Always call a client to confirm a weird invoice before opening anything.
