Two-factor authentication saved me after my email got hit last month
I almost never used 2FA because I figured it was too much hassle for my personal accounts. Then last month I got a weird password reset text from my bank in Portland at 3 in the morning. I ignored it, but when I woke up, someone had tried to log into my email from a device in another country. The only thing that stopped them was the 2FA code they couldn't get. I spent the next two days changing passwords and checking every account I own. Now I have it turned on for everything that offers it, even my gaming profile. Has anyone else had a close call like that that made you rethink your setup?

That 3am bank text is exactly how it starts. Same thing happened to my buddy with his Steam account, someone got his password from a data breach. The 2FA code was the only wall between him and losing his whole library. Now I make everyone in my house use it too, even for stupid apps. It takes ten seconds but saves you a week of panic.
