My printer nuked 80 sheets of 12x18 at a tradeshow in Reno last week

I was running a booth at a tradeshow in Reno last week and my inkjet decided to park its head mid-run, leaving 80 sheets of 12x18 with a massive smear band right through the middle. Turns out the humidity in that conference hall was way above what the paper was rated for, and the ink just wouldn't set before the next pass. Has anyone else dealt with humidity wreaking havoc on a big batch at a venue, or do you only use solvent printers for on-site work?

Ugh, Reno humidity strikes again! I feel your pain, I once had a whole batch of wedding invites turn into wavy cardboard at a venue that had the AC on the fritz. The ink pooled so bad it looked like the paper had a meltdown, which honestly matched how I felt inside. I didn't even think about solvent printers back then, I just sat there with a hair dryer trying to save what I could. Spoiler alert, it did not work and I ended up reprinting everything from my car. Hope your client was nicer about it than mine was!

Did you try running the hair dryer on the cold setting? I always thought heat was the enemy with inkjet prints, but cold air helps keep the paper from warping while you dry it. Though yeah, once paper gets that wavy, it's pretty much done, no amount of drying will fix it. At least you got a decent story out of it, even if the client didn't see the humor.
