Remember when we had to send film to a lab for color proofs?
I had a job in 2005 where we'd wait three days for a matchprint from the local service bureau. Now I just soft proof on my calibrated Eizo and hit print. Anyone still keep a physical proofing system around for certain clients?

It's the same with getting estimates for work now. Clients used to expect a typed up bid in the mail. Now they want a text with a number and maybe a quick sketch on my phone. The whole idea of waiting for a physical thing is just gone. People want it in their hand immediately, even if the digital version is just as good.

Remember that digital bids can still be professional and clear.
