Shoutout to my sister who runs a bakery for changing how I think about color

I was showing her a flyer I made for a local band, using bright red and black like they wanted. She looked at it and said, 'That red makes me think of hot sauce, not music.' It hit me that I was just picking colors I liked, not thinking about what they really say. Now I'm trying to match the color feeling to the client's vibe, not just the words they give me. How do you guys figure out the right mood with your color picks?
