Warning about ordering cheap business cards online...

I needed 500 cards for a local craft fair and found a deal for $25 online. The colors came out super washed out, like a bad photocopy, and the card stock was so thin you could almost see through it. I had to rush order a new batch from a local print shop for $80, which hurt the budget. Has anyone found a good middle ground for small batch printing that doesn't look terrible?

Did you ask for a physical proof first?

Did you check the printer's sample gallery first? Sometimes those cheap deals are fine for basic text...
