The day I stopped fighting my trim router and started using a pattern bit instead
Spent two straight years struggling with wobbly bearing-guided bits on cabinet doors until a guy at the hardware store in Cleveland showed me how a pattern bit with a template gives you perfect flush cuts every time has anyone else had that moment where you realize you've been making the same job twice as hard?

Same here" is right, that's exactly what went through my head. I spent months fighting with a bearing bit on some oak cabinet doors and getting those annoying burn marks. Then a buddy walked me through using a pattern bit with a simple MDF template and it was like night and day, no more wobbling and no more tearout. The trick for me was making sure my template was clamped down super tight, otherwise the pattern bit would still wander a little. Once I got that sorted out I couldn't believe how much time I wasted on the old way.
