Hit 500 portfolio views and panicked until I saw my own clicks counted
So I finally put my book online two weeks ago after a buddy in Tulsa kept bugging me. Checked the stats this morning and saw 500 views. Almost had a heart attack. Then I realize my own laptop visits from tweaking stuff counted for like half of those. Still, 250 random strangers looked at my case studies? That feels fake. The funny part is the project that gets the most time spent on it is the one I almost left out, the simple rebrand for a pawn shop. My fancy app mockups get a quick glance. Did anyone else get a weird surprise about which piece pulls the most attention? Curious if I should lean into the boring stuff or keep the flashy work up top.
A buddy of mine runs a tiny bakery and posted pictures of his cookies online. He figured people would care about the fancy wedding cakes he spent days on. Turns out the photo that blew up was a blurry shot of him dropping a tray of burnt croissants in the parking lot. Now his whole site is just cookie chaos and people love it. Sometimes the boring stuff is just more honest.
