Got told my spacing was 'too tight' by a senior designer in Chicago last month

I was working on a dashboard for a logistics client and thought I had nailed the layout. Then a senior designer looked at my mockup and said 'your padding is suffocating the content.' I went back and doubled all my gaps and margins, and suddenly the whole thing breathed. Has anyone else had to unlearn tight spacing habits from early in their career?

Padding is way more important than people give it credit for... feels wrong at first but makes everything better.

I gotta push back on that a little though, @willow_anderson85. For me, padding kills the natural feel of a shoe and makes my foot slide around inside. I tried thick socks with some extra cushioned inserts once and it felt like I was walking on marshmallows with zero ground feedback. Does that not mess with your stability on uneven trails?
