Picked up a trick from a graphic designer at a coffee shop

Was waiting for my order at a shop in Austin last month and saw a guy using the shift key to resize things perfectly in Figma. He said it's the same as holding shift in any drawing program but most people forget about it for UI work. Anybody else pick up random shortcuts from strangers like that?

That shift key trick is pretty basic but yeah, most people overlook it in UI work. I've got a question for you though - did he show you how to use shift to constrain proportions in Figma specifically, or was he talking about nudging objects? Because there's actually two different behaviors there and I see people mix them up all the time.

Wait, you're telling me there's actually a third shift key thing I should be messing up too?
