Stumbled across a stat about vinyl banner waste that floored me
I was looking up materials for a client's event signage and found out that over 500 million square feet of vinyl banners end up in landfills every year in the US alone. That number came from some report by the EPA I dug up last night. How do you all deal with the guilt of using non-recyclable stuff for temporary projects? Anyone found good alternatives that don't look cheap?

Heard that same stat a while back and it stuck with me too. I switched to reusable fabric banners for most jobs and they hold up way better for indoor stuff, though the upfront cost stings a bit. It helps a little knowing I'm not adding to that pile every single time.

Look at what's actually going into the recycling bin first. Half the time those "paper" banners are coated in plastic or have metal grommets that contaminate the whole load. A lot of recycling centers just toss them anyway if they're not properly prepped.
