Can we talk about the time a client's feedback file broke my entire Monday?

Last month, a client from Boston sent a 50 page PDF with notes scribbled in a weird, old version of Acrobat. My usual plugin couldn't read it, so I spent 4 hours manually copying comments into Figma. I now make everyone use a single, agreed-upon feedback tool before a project even starts. What's your go-to method for locking down the review process?

My buddy in Austin had a client send back a printed storyboard, scanned it as one giant JPEG, and then wrote notes in red pen on the scan. He had to zoom in and guess the handwriting for two days straight. They use Frame.io for everything now, no exceptions.

It's like that with everything now, you need one set rule for how to do a thing or it all falls apart.

Frame.io saved my team too after a client sent markup as a 30 second screen recording they narrated over. The trick is to put it in the contract as a non-negotiable tool before you even send moodboards. Make it part of your onboarding checklist so clients literally can't start without agreeing.
