My color management was broken for 2 years and I never noticed

Last week I sent a client a mockup and they replied saying the orange looked more like brown on their screen. Turns out my monitor profile reset to default after a driver update back in March. I spent 8 hours redoing an entire brand palette because of it. Has anyone else had their settings silently wiped by an update?

Orange looked more like brown" is exactly the kind of sentence that should come with a therapy bill attached. That's not a color management issue, that's a trust issue now between you and your monitor forever. I had a similar thing happen where my brightness randomly dimmed after some update and I spent a whole week thinking I was going blind, turns out my laptop just decided to be moody. Eight hours though, that's brutal. At least you didn't send the brown version to the client thinking it was orange, that's the real nightmare scenario. I check my profiles every Monday now like a religious ritual, because apparently updates just silently murder your settings for fun.
