PSA: I finally understood my calendar after a Tuesday in April

Last month I was trying to plan a weekend trip to Austin and my schedule looked like a total mess. I realized I was putting EVERY meeting and task in the same color, so nothing stood out. I spent an hour recoding things: green for money stuff, blue for creative work, red for urgent deadlines. Now I can see my whole week at a glance and it's so much less stressful. Has anyone else found a color system that actually works for them?

Try using orange for personal stuff like workouts or calling family, it helps separate work from life. I keep client meetings in purple and internal stuff in gray so I know who I'm dealing with. Yellow is for blocking time to actually do the work, otherwise my calendar just looks like a meeting graveyard lol. Sticking to just five colors max keeps it from getting confusing again.

Meeting graveyard" is a bit much, @tyler_baker. It's just a calendar.
