Spent 3 days in Santa Fe and found my planning method broken
Went to Santa Fe for a long weekend to test my new life plan system. Day two was a mess. I had too many goals written down, no priorities, and I kept jumping between tasks. Saw a local artist's workshop with one single board for the month, three big words on it. That was it. Made me realize I was overcomplicating everything. Now I'm trying a one page plan with only three focus areas. Has anyone else simplified down to the bare minimum and actually stuck with it?
Did three days in Santa Fe really break a whole system though? Honestly that sounds more like a vacation brain thing than a real problem with how you plan. You were in a new city, probably sleeping weird, eating different food, and then you blame your whole method after one bad day. Tbh I get why the artist board felt deep in the moment, but a workshop board with three words works for an artist because their whole job is one thing. Most people have jobs, chores, kids, whatever, and three focus areas might just turn into ignoring everything else. Not saying simplify is bad, just that one messy day does not prove much.
