The time I tried to plan my whole week down to the hour
Last month in Seattle, I sat down Sunday night and mapped out every single hour of my work week. By Wednesday afternoon, I was already 12 hours behind because a meeting ran long and a friend needed help moving a couch. I realized I was treating my life like a spreadsheet, not a real thing that has stuff happen. Has anyone else tried micro-scheduling and just watched it fall apart?

Kind of sounds like you were trying to run your life like a factory or something... life just doesn't work like that.
People and meetings always mess up the perfect schedule. Your friend needing help with a couch is way more important than sticking to some random hour block anyway.

Tbh I once planned out my whole Saturday down to 15 minute blocks and then my neighbor asked me to help jumpstart her car and suddenly I'm at AutoZone for an hour talking to a guy about battery warranties while my entire schedule is just trash. That's the thing about trying to plan everything out, you forget that @the_eric is right about life being messy and people will always need a hand with something. Honestly the couch thing sounds way more memorable than whatever was in your little time blocks anyway.
