My monitor arm debate: one big arm vs. two smaller ones

I went with two separate arms for my 27-inch screens, and the extra flexibility for portrait mode is a total game changer. Anyone else find that splitting them up gives you way more layout options?

That portrait mode flexibility sounds perfect for reading long articles or code. How far can you actually tilt or swivel each screen before the arms start to bump into each other on your desk?

Isn't it funny how having separate parts often gives you more control? I see it with my kitchen tools, where a single fancy gadget is way less useful than a few simple, separate ones I can move around. That flexibility you get with two arms, to twist each screen on its own, totally proves that idea.
