Appreciation post: That font pairing advice from a random Redditor actually saved my portfolio piece
I was stuck on a landing page mockup last week for a coffee shop brand I'm redesigning (just a practice project, not a real client). Someone in a design discord told me to stop mixing serif and sans-serif and just use one typeface with different weights instead. I tried it with Playfair Display for the headings and body copy, and the whole thing finally came together after three days of staring at bad combos. It felt weirdly simple but the layout actually breathes now. Has anyone else gotten a tip from a stranger that fixed a project you were overthinking?

Using just one weight system felt wrong, but it worked perfectly.
