Bought a $200 Figma plugin that does the same thing as a free one

I dropped $200 on a table of contents plugin last month because it had fancy demos on Twitter. Turns out the free Auto Table plugin does the exact same thing but without the extra bloat. Anyone else get burned by a plugin that looked better in the ads than in real use?

Ha, oh man that hurts. I fell for the exact same thing with a lazy load plugin. The ads showed some magical performance boost and I just had to have it. Dropped like 150 bucks on it. Then I found a basic PHP snippet in a Reddit thread that did the same thing with no extra weight. Felt like an absolute clown. The worst part is the paid one has all this extra settings and features that just make the backend bloated for no reason. Lesson learned though. Now I always check for a free or simpler version before I buy anything.

Bro I paid for a script once and the free one literally had one less line of code and worked better lmao.
