Homeowner asked me to check his tractor at the county fair parking lot

He had a 2005 Ford 3910 that kept cutting out under load. Turns out the fuel filter was so clogged you could barely blow through it. Has anyone else had to diagnose equipment in a weird spot like that?

Is it really that big of a deal though? A clogged fuel filter is pretty common sense, it's gonna cause problems under load.

whoa wait, you could barely blow through it? that's gnarly dude. i've had some nasty filters before but that sounds like it was straight-up mud in there. i once had to swap a water pump on a riding mower in the middle of a corn maze at like 10pm with a headlamp cause the guy needed it for a haunted attraction that night. it's wild what people will ask you to fix and where they'll have you do it. honestly i'm impressed the tractor even ran at all with a filter that clogged. must have been running on fumes and pure willpower lol.
