Question about the new file size limit for submissions
I went to submit a piece to the monthly showcase yesterday and got a hard stop error. The file size limit used to be 10MB, which was fine for my usual layered PSDs. Now it's been quietly dropped to 5MB without any announcement on the main page. I had to scramble to flatten layers and drop the resolution, which completely messed up the texture detail I spent hours on. This happened about two weeks ago according to the forum admin I messaged. They said it was to speed up page load times, but it really hurts artists who work with high detail. Has anyone found a good way to compress files without losing too much quality for this?
