My internet speed in Chiang Mai went from a joke to a dream in under a month
When I first got my apartment here, my speed test showed 8 Mbps on a good day. I could barely load a spreadsheet, let alone join a video call. After three weeks of complaining, the landlord finally sent a real technician instead of just resetting the router. The guy found a frayed cable in the building's utility closet that had been chewed by something. He replaced about 20 feet of it. Now I'm getting a steady 150 Mbps and my uploads finish before I can make coffee. Has anyone else had a weird animal-related fix solve their work problems abroad?

Wait, something chewed through the cable? What kind of animal was big enough to get into a utility closet and do that?

Forget big animals, rodents are the main problem. Mice and rats can squeeze into tiny spaces and love chewing wires for some reason. I mean, they've taken out car engines and whole server rooms, so a utility closet is nothing.
