Our old suction dredge was moving about 200 cubic yards a day on the river job last year.
We swapped out the worn 12-inch cutter head for a new one with a different tooth pattern. After that, our daily output jumped to around 280 cubic yards. The change was clear within the first week of running it. The new head just seemed to break up the clay and gravel mix a lot faster. Has anyone else seen a big jump from just changing the cutter, or did we just get lucky with the ground conditions?

Had a similar boost switching to a serrated pattern on a sand overburden. The right teeth can make a huge difference in how the material fractures. Sounds like you just found a better match for your ground.

Better match for your ground" is key, but what about the machine's shake?
