Serious question, why do so many guys skip the pre-fill step on inside corners?

I was fixing a job in a new build over in the west side, and every single inside corner was cracked. The other crew just taped right over the gap without packing it first. It's not a shortcut, it's a guarantee you'll be back in six months. How many callbacks does it take to learn that lesson?

Took a few callbacks to learn that one myself.

My first year I must have done a dozen callbacks on cracked corners before it clicked. I was so sure I could just tape over a quarter inch gap, like the mud would magically bridge it. How dumb was that? You only get to play that game until you're the one eating the cost to fix it. Now my knife hits that corner with pre-fill before anything else touches it.
