Warning: my foreman insisted we use a 6-inch knife for the final coat on a big commercial job in Denver, but after three rooms I switched back to my 12-inch and the finish was way smoother.

He said the smaller knife gave more control, but I found it left way more ridges and took twice as long, so has anyone else had a boss push a tool choice that just didn't work for you?

Foremen get stuck on weird ideas sometimes. I just nod, then use what I know works. The finish never lies.
